Seeking Medical Director of Palliative Care and Hospice Programs at Centra Health.

Medical Director would have at least 5 years of practice experience and be board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and would ideally also have experience in Palliative Care

Medical Director would help in maintaining palliative care program for in patient services but would also assist in creating strong ambulatory vision for out-patient palliative care and have oversight of both palliative care and hospice services.

Reporting Structure Medical Director would help to align palliative care and hospice programs with Centra’s overall ambulatory strategy (as part of the ambulatory service line) and would report to the Medical Director of the Ambulatory Service Line. Providers within hospice and palliative would report to this position.

Leadership Provides education to providers regarding best practice in the field with a focus on patient and family experience • Functions as dyad leader with both administrative directors of palliative care and hospice • Is a role model for behavior within program • Encourages a collaborative atmosphere with all employees • Encourages an atmosphere and expectation of superior service to patients

Quality: • Provides leadership in the development and promotion of quality assurance programs. Uses national benchmarks in quality to help develop processes for best practice in palliative care and hospice. • Provides oversight of all clinical protocols. • Provides training to clinical support staff as needed. Addresses patient complaints and concerns.

Finance • Provides input to the development of the annual budget.  • Monitors monthly financial performance and addresses budget variances • Identifies areas of clinical revenue increase and expense decrease on an on-going basis. • Ensures that monthly volume targets are reached and strives to improve the financial performance • Provides a clinical perspective to daily operations. • Communicates with administrative staff on a regular and structured basis. • Attends staff meetings as requested. • Participates in non-clinical pre-employment selection as requested. • Provides input to the development of meaningful performance measures.

Evaluation of Performance: • Regularly reviews performance measures. • Provides structured feedback on the performance of all providers at least annually
