NEUROSURGERY APP SUPERVISOR (Lead)

Centra Medical Group, based in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a
Neurosurgery APP Supervisor. Our Centra Neurosurgery Center leads the field in
advanced surgery techniques by offering minimally invasive brain and spine
surgery.
The Neurosurgery APP Supervisor is responsible for oversight and development of
APP services to work directly with and in conjunction with the physicians,
administration, nursing, and clerical support staff within CMG Neurosurgery,
LGH and other satellite offices. This includes supervision of coverage provided
by the APP service, recruitment, ongoing evaluation, team development and contribution
to improved clinical outcomes. Seeking a purpose-driven leader who inspires and develops teams of
caregivers to continually learn, improve and build systems of care for patients
with neurological symptoms and conditions.
Job Duties:
- Provide leadership for the
APP service including scheduling oversight, service development, engagement,
and quality, working through any APP-Physician relationship issues or
other issues that may affect clinical performance, and monitoring CMEs.
- Provide on-going evaluation
of current work practices, workflows, and service coverage as it pertains
to advanced practice providers to continue to develop services that
provide the highest quality of care in the most efficient manner possible.
- Assists in the monitoring of
workflow processes maintaining efficient, systematic approaches to the
daily tasks.
- Integral involvement in
process improvement initiatives throughout CMG Neurosurgery and Centra -
all involving clinical work processes to create more efficient, effective,
systematic approaches to neurosurgical care.
- Chair and organize APP
meetings to be held on a regular schedule
- Responsible for screening
recruits, working with recruitment to facilitate interviews, and
on-boarding new APPs to include orientation and 3-month evaluations.
- Position also includes
clinical duties - inpatient rounding, consults, and floor call coverage,
assists in the OR and sees patients in the clinic on a routine basis.
Requirements:
- Neurosurgery experience as either an NP or PA
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Current board certification & licensure
as an NP or PA
