If you’re a qualified family physician who’s ready for a change, here’s an opportunity for a rewarding position in a prosperous community. Centra, an award-winning regional healthcare system in central Virginia, now has openings on the faculty of our Family Medicine Residency Program.

We’re looking for a physician with the personality, skills and background that show a distinct flair for teaching.

In this role, you’ll serve as a faculty member for a 6-6-6 residency program with a comfortable faculty-to-resident ratio. You’ll be stepping into an established program that has achieved a 100% board certification rate for six years—and a long-term record of successful matches—all within an NCQA Level 3 PCMH. Your students will experience a small group-practice model in a community where Family Medicine is the second largest medical specialty.

The work environment is a new 28,000 sq. ft. freestanding facility, specifically designed for the program, with wireless EMR and room for expansion.

This multifaceted position offers the personal rewards of direct patient care, plus the professional satisfaction of playing a pivotal role in the cultivation of future physicians…all combined with very competitive salary and benefits.

But an attractive position is even more appealing in an attractive community. Lynchburg, Virginia, is a thriving, 200-year-old city with a growing metro area of more than 150,000. It’s big enough to offer amenities such as convenient air and rail service, yet small enough to be free of gridlock and urban crime rates. (In fact, it’s been named one of the Top 10 Safest Mid-Sized Cities by Sperling’s Best Places.)

Lynchburg is conveniently located in the heart of the state, just three hours from Washington, D.C. and coastal beaches, and only minutes from lakefront communities, mountaintop trails and ski slopes. The Lynchburg area also offers an extraordinary range of housing options, a vibrant arts community, and some of the mildest weather on the east coast.

The region is home to 6 colleges & universities, an acclaimed public school system, plus a range of private K-12 schools (including the largest private school in the state). Among the many accolades the Lynchburg area has earned:

• Best Places for Business and Careers – Forbes

• Top Places to Live – CNN Money

• Top Places to Retire – Forbes

• Top Adventure Towns – National Geographic

• America’s Best High Schools –Newsweek

All in all, it’s an ideal spot for the next stage of your career…on the Centra Family Medicine Faculty.
