Gilchrist Greater Living Practice (GGL) of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking hospice and palliative medicine (HPM) physicians who are inspired by caring for patients with advanced illness, the frail elderly and their families in acute/post-acute care settings.
GGL is a group of 11 physicians, 16 nurse practitioners, and one social worker, employed by GBMC, a regional community teaching hospital in the northern Baltimore suburbs. The physicians are a mix of double and triple board certified geriatricians and HPM physicians.
GGL provides HPM care and medical direction for Gilchrist Hospice Care (GHC). GHC, a GBMC affiliate, is the largest hospice in Central Maryland and has ten hospice teams, including two inpatient units with a total of 44 acute inpatient beds, and two residential hospice units. GGL also provides palliative medicine consultation services to GBMC Hospital and Howard County General Hospital. GGL is expanding its hospital-based PM consultation services, its outpatient PM services, and hospice services. Our group is looking for two or more BC/BE HPM physicians to enhance our capability to provide for the needs of our growing practice.
Candidates may also participate in the education of medical residents and geriatric and hospice/palliative medicine fellows from Johns Hopkins.
The HPM physicians are happy and committed to a style of practice that is
- Team oriented and very collegial
- Balanced and sustainable for the long-term
- Concerned about the quality of both work and non-work life
- Flexible in terms of work mix (e.g. hospice vs PM; hospital-based vs outpatient)
- Reasonable in terms of coverage
- Well compensated: Excellent guaranteed salary and benefit package. Our physicians’ total earnings are in the top quartile in terms of MGMA compensation.
Join the leading HPM group in the Central Maryland!
